Overview

David J. Gittines focuses his defense law practice in the areas of labor and employment law on behalf of management, employment practices liability, general liability, and professional liability defense.

In his professional liability work, Mr. Gittines represents attorneys, insurance brokers, real estate agents, mortgage, and title professionals in litigation matters arising from claims of alleged breach of duties, before state and federal court, and industry governing bodies. He has also defended physical therapists against malpractice claims. In his general liability work, Mr. Gittines has represented a variety of companies and their insureds. This included municipalities’ motor vehicle accident claims involving bodily injury and wrongful death. In addition, he has defended multiple cases where claims were asserted against individual employees and vicariously against the company itself.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Gittines specialized in the defense of public entities in a wide range of areas, including mass torts, while an associate at a prominent New Jersey firm. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Gittines was an executive with a large nonprofit youth organization, and also worked in the market research industry.
